OUR APPROACH / UPDATED OCTOBER 10, 2026

A clearer choice.
With the workings shown.

Tabi Signal compares a curated selection of seven Japan eSIM plans from three providers. We help narrow your options; we do not claim to cover the whole market.

What we checked

The current catalog was source-checked on , using official product and help pages from Nomad, Airalo and Holafly. Each plan’s details link to the supporting sources.

We record the advertised price, validity, data allowance, known daily high-speed limits, sharing rules, network names and activation information. We have not bought and field-tested these plans in Japan. Provider network claims are not independent measurements of coverage, speed or reliability.

How a plan reaches your shortlist

  1. Duration: the listed validity must cover your entire trip. We do not multiply short packages into invented offers.
  2. Estimated data: days × daily phone estimate, plus any extra sharing. A fixed allowance must cover that total. For a known daily high-speed tier, the combined daily estimate must fit that tier.
  3. Hotspot: when sharing is selected, we check whether it is allowed and whether a separate daily sharing cap covers the requested extra data.
  4. Order: the default view puts confirmed estimate matches first, then ranks them by the listed total price. Available filters and alternative sorts let you inspect other options.

Our 0.5, 1 and 3 GB/day phone presets are planning assumptions, not measured app usage. “Fits your estimate” means the disclosed allowances meet these calculations, not that actual usage or network performance is guaranteed. See the data guide.

Unknown does not mean unlimited. If a required high-speed or hotspot limit is not established, the plan stays visibly uncertain instead of becoming a confirmed match.

How to read the prices

Prices are total reference package prices in USD, as displayed by official sources when checked. The price per trip day divides that package price by your selected trip length, not the plan’s full validity. For example, a $23 package for a 14-day trip is about $1.64 per trip day. This is not a separately purchasable daily rate. Verified promotions are identified, with a previous price only when the source showed it.

Provider checkout is authoritative for the current offer, currency, local taxes and final total. Prices can change. We do not silently convert other currencies or assume a discount code will work. A low price in this selection is not a claim to be the cheapest Japan eSIM available anywhere.

Links and commercial relationships

The current links are ordinary provider links, not personalized affiliate links. Tabi Signal currently earns no commissions from them. You choose the named package and buy from the provider, which handles payment, activation, support and refunds. Any future commission relationship should be disclosed before tracked links are introduced.

A dated catalog, not a live feed

The catalog is maintained as a static selection. The displayed date identifies the last source check; opening the page does not refresh prices from providers. Review the current product terms before paying. For plan help, use official provider support.

A little less planning starts here.
